Spring 1 - 2025

Welcome to Sparrow’s class and our class page.  I hope you have all had a very happy Christmas and a restful start to the New Year. 

We are so excited to welcome you all back to school and kickstart our Spring term learning. Here is an overview of what our learning will look like this half term: 

Our PE days for Spring 1 term:

We will continue to teach phonics daily in Year 1, recapping Phase 4 blends and moving on to teaching Phase 5 phonics. 

Please continue to read with your child daily for 5-10 minutes as this is essential in supporting their fluency, comprehension and love of reading. Whilst reading with your child try to discuss the books too: what has happened so far, what they think may happen next, who are their favourite characters…

Could you also ensure that children bring their water bottle, containing still water, to school each day.
 
 
We are lucky to once again have an outside space that is solely for our use. In order to make the most of this space we would like all children to have their own wellies that can remain in school. This will mean that regardless of the weather they will be able to enjoy time outside.

We have lots of exciting experiences planned in Sparrows this half term. Our Class Dojo page is our main platform of communication so please do keep up to date for all our key dates, notices and key learning moments captured during this half term. 

We also love to see and share the wonderful learning you do at home with your child, so please send any photographs or videos across and we will share and celebrate these with the children in class.
