Year 2 Tattenhall Residential

Date: 4th Mar 2020 @ 3:19pm

Skylarks had an amazing first residential experience at Tattenhall. The children arrived at school with the usual mixture of excitement and apprehension for the unknown. We clambered on the coach and were off on our bog baby adventure. The children soon forgot about any worries on arrival, setting up their beds and exploring the centre.

After our packed lunch, our first afternoon was filled with forest school activities centred around our text 'The Bog Baby'. We made bog babies from mud, built bog baby dens in the environment and whittled our own sticks ready for the campfire and marshmallow toasting.  Thank you to Mrs Boot for leading our forest school session we had so much fun...and thank you to the weather for being kind to us!

The children enjoyed their dinner all together and after adding to our Tattenhall diaries it was into our pyjamas for movie night. The team feeling abomng the children was fabulous and along with a toast snack a great way to chill and end the day.

Day two began with the chores of stripping the beds and packing our cases. After a lovely cooked breakfast the children were really excited to create their own bog babies in the art room. They put their sewing skills and glue gun use to the test and created some wonderful characters.

A final play in the outdoor area ended our adventure. Then filled with our lunch and a story we found ourselves back on the coach. Time had flown so quickly and the staff were so proud of the children in achieving their first night away from home.
